My name is Travis Ice and I started this blog as an attempt to better present past scouting reports I have and a place to post updated reports, thoughts, notes, etc. From 2014-2020 I was a Professional Scout in the Los Angeles Angels Pro Scouting department. Like several organizations in MLB during the Covid delayed season, I was one of many scouts to be laid off by the organization they worked for.
Coming from a scouting and player evaluation background, most of the posts on this blog will probably look at things from that perspective but really, I’m using this as a place to stay engaged with the sport and hopefully provide some unique insight while not currently working in the industry. I don’t have any set plan or itinerary for this blog other than to post as much as I can about as many interesting topics as possible in whatever spare time I have.
I’m a big believer in blending traditional scouting practices with all the modern analytics and technology available today. Being able to utilize several sources of information to project the most accurate picture of a player is necessary in today’s game and I take a lot of pride in always evolving my scouting and analytical chops. Thanks for stopping by!
