Seibert is a 2024 eligible right-handed pitcher who pitches at Blue Valley Southwest HS in
Overland Park, KS. Seibert is committed to Tennessee for college ball, but the stuff he showed in a recent outing I was at, he’s going to be attracting a lot of MLB scouts prior to the 2024 Draft. While Seibert is still lacking a bit in pure athleticism, the large frame has vastly improved since I first saw him live in 2021.
Frame: Large build. Body has taken significant steps forward since I first saw him a couple of years ago. Still not an athletic build, but there’s room for added strength on the bones as he continues to add strength and mature.
Delivery: Rhythmic NWU, medium leg lift, average-online stride down the slope, level shoulders
throughout, no rotation, drifts from rubber, solid-average hip/shoulder separation,
quiet head, falls off slightly to 1B side, repeats well.
Arm Axn: H ¾ arm slot- compact arm circle with a clean path and no hindrances present. Easy and often on-time upon foot strike.
FB (4S): (90-92/T94)- (45/55) held velocity throughout outing and in the stretch. Solid hip/shoulder separation and adding more quality strength to the frame will contribute to velocity gains in future.
FB Mvmt/Life: (55/55) Four-seamer showed above-average carry through the zone, especially when in upper quadrants of the zone.
FB Command: (30/50) Flashed spot-up ability to both sides of the dish, as well as elevating up in the zone. Far from consistent at present, but he repeats delivery well and there’s definitely feel present.
CB: (77-79)- (35/50) Offering showed both 12-6 and 11-5 shape with varying amounts of depth. The ones with the sharpest teeth were the shallow, 12-6 ones. Feel for landing in the zone was inconsistent, but flashed it was in there and consistently maintained quality spin on the breaker.
CH: (82-84)- (35/55) Threw the cambio with FB arm speed to add an extra element of deception. Flashed a couple with late bottom action with significant depth that is capable of slipping under bats. Least used offering as he doesn’t really need to use it against the vast majority of hitters he’s facing during the high school season. The ones he threw yesterday were the best I’ve seen out of him.
Deception: 50/50
Pitchability: 30/50
